New gallery represents my latest work since I became professional. All images in this gallery are made with professional software like 3DS and Maya. Lately for rendering I am using exclusively V-Ray render engine but in past I've used other render engines like mentalray. ZBrush is my favorite app for sculpting and Photoshop for textures. Each image has small background story. By clicking on the image new page is opened with project details with additional images of work in progress.
Sketching, digital and traditionally with pencil is my recent hobby. Since I am self taught 3D artist I never wend over traditional learning path of having strong traditional background and learning 3D on top, I went straight into 3D. So in last few years I've decided to improve my drawing skills, I got few books and took some classes and these are some of my first sketches I did so far. Some of them are drawn directly from photos while others are done from imagination. My intention is not to become highly skilled with drawing but more to develop it as a side skill that helps me improve my 3D art. In addition to these sketches, there are also 3D sketches from ZBrush and some tests from 3DS Max.
Old gallery represents work I did from 1996 to 2002. This is what I called my learning or amateur years when I was introduced to 3D for the first time. Since I never went to art college or university this was my path to becoming professional artist. I've spend many nights exploring 3D software, testing and learning new techniques and working on still images and animations. During those years I started with 3D Studio 2.0 on DOS and transitioned later to POV-Ray 2.2 and 3.0. Almost all images from this gallery are made with POVRay on very slow computers with only few megabytes of RAM and 40-120 MHz CPUs.
